Logo Time

I've completed my first project with Inkscape.

This is the actually logo on a tshirt of mine.
This is what I created!

Okay, so I tried.  I'll keep working at it.  Inkscape is really difficult to learn but I do believe it has a lot of potential.  It's just not so user friendly.

  1. Good job Erin! The orange ball in the middle is suppose to be a peach. And there's lines for shadowing on the left side. I remember seeing the silkscreen somewhere in the house too.

  2. Magnolia's Peach was an awesome restaurant! I grew up in the area, and when I got to pick which restaurant we would go to, I would always choose Magnolia's Peach. That was the first place I ever had French onion soup, and it was so good! Miss that place!

  3. Hi, My name is Joy Erickson. I opened with Pam and Bob at The Peach in Claremont, Ca. (late '70's) It was the best job I ever had! There is a "Magnolia's Peach" page on Facebook dedicated to ex employees. Also are some pictures of matchbooks, mugs, and other keepsakes. I still have my waitress apron. Such wonderful memories!

  7. I LOVED that place in the 70's when I was a young fella. My friends & I went there quite often to drink & chase the ladies. It was PACKED on the weekends. It had a huge bar, and the food was excellent. I miss those days, AND Magnolia's Peace! There hasn't been a place like it since in the Upland area, anyway. Ahhhhh......The good 'ol days! Can someone explain why it closed it's doors? I heard it was a domestic matter.

  9. I used to visit "The Peach" regularly when I was a student at Cal-Poly. The fish in the bag was, at the time, one of the best meals I'd ever had. We mostly went there to drink, but the nachos were killer and there were always lots of good looking girls. I remember one of the managers - Mark Ozawa, and who could forget Heidi Anderson working the cocktail area. I want to d it again......

  12. I still have my Grand Opening Menu and Invitation to Magnolia's Peach in Upland. I worked for the Builder in the Architectural Department at that time. Bob and Pam were always warm, friendly and great to work with. They were such great hosts every time I visited the restaurant. The food was fantastic...presentation exceptional...a whole new kind of fare that took the Upland area by it's horns and shook it. The drinks were great and the service perfect. They had a clear vision and saw it through...Thank you again Bob and Pam.

  13. My father-in-law had one of the Magnolia's Peach mugs. Was trying to research it and stumbled upon this blog. It's for sale here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/203662599/magnolias-peach-restaurant-mug-vintage I think it would be awesome if someone who actually knew of and went to the restaurant purchased it... :)

    1. Wow! What a blast from the past! I remember those crazy wild days. I worked at the one in Upland, started as a hostess, upgraded to busboy and eventually a waitress. Pants were so tight I could hardly been over to serve and certainly do not sit down. LOL...The best peach margarita on the planet...oh and the peach pie was to die for. Thanks for the fond memories.

  19. I worked at the Brea location in 1990-1991. I was just reminiscing about their creole potato cheddar soup today and decided to google and found this page. What a great memory!
